FWI Impact Report February 2024

Dear Friends.

Here follows the *Impact Report for February ‘24: *

1. We added the hand-washing station to the toilets at Prinz Klaus completed last month.

2. The malnourishment project welcomed 13 new children. We expect some to graduate quickly as they are only slightly underweight. We now have 104 active participants in the program.

3. We delivered medical equipment to the Mhezi health clinic. This was our third delivery to the clinic in three years and consisted of UTI strips, a glucose machine with strips, and aprons.

4. We expanded our chicken project for HIV+ patients adding the 40 attendees at the Malindi health clinic. Each received two chickens and a rooster to either sell the eggs or eat them for nourishment, or both. The group will receive ongoing support as we intend to meet with them monthly.

Our goal is to extend this to all 10 health clinics in the Usambara mountains Camille where HIV+ people go for their ARVs every month. HIV+ people are sadly ostracized in Tanzania and, from there, quickly impoverished. A sad situation. This project is a small step to change that. We are also adamant in telling people there is no shame in being HIV+.
