Building structures can have a lasting impact

Toilets, although the most numerous, are not the only structures we build. We have in the past year built a kitchen in Sunga health clinic. This kitchen provide meals for needy patients.

In one village (Mkundi ya Mtae), we built a school to eliminate the need for the children to walk five kilometres to school every day. And that walk took place in areas where elephants roam freely at certain times of the year!

We have also helped villagers complete the building of the village health clinic in Kizara.  Also, we have built a house for staff in Mambo. This makes employment at the clinic more attactive to staff and reduces turnover.

Building projects currently (July 2024) in progress are a kitchen in Mbula primary school, a health clinic staff house in Mpanga and a health clinic in Unga.

Although these particular projects are relatively rare, it is undeniable that their impact on the village is lasting and significant. Building projects are infrequent but valuable to the community.
